Yang Family

Ancestral home by the Golden River. Spear and bow on horseback—the border guards of legend.

The Yang Family ancestral home was the seat of Yang Ye, a hero of the Great Song who gave his life resisting the Liao armies. The manor stands near the Golden River at Tian Bo Gate in Bianjing—and the clan has come to mean the warriors of the Yang tribe who followed Yang Ye to the northern border, generation after generation, to hold the line against invasion.

In the annals of the realm, the Yang generals have been remembered as both lesson and legend for centuries. Among the most famed are Yang Liulang—known to many as the heir to Yang Ye’s legacy—Mu Guiying, and the many women warriors of the Yang family who took up spear and bow alongside the men. To join the Yang is to inherit that name: border guards, cavalry, and a house that chose duty over survival.

The Two Branches

Yang disciples fight on horseback—either with the spear in the vanguard or the bow from the rear. Both branches share the same mount and the same cause.

  • Spear Branch

Cavalry who ride into battle with the spear. Their skill lies in breaking enemy formations—killing and intimidating the foe at close range. When the Yang Family charges, the spear branch is at the front: the tip of the wedge that has defended the northern border for generations.

  • Bow Branch

Like the spear branch, they fight from the saddle—but the bow is their weapon. When they focus their strength, they strike targets with deadly accuracy. The bow branch supports from the rear, raining attacks on the enemy and amplifying the assault so the front line can break through. Horse, bow, and discipline: the backbone of the Yang’s defence.

Your Path in the Jianghu

To take up the Yang name is to stand on the border—whether with spear or bow. Master the horse and the weapon, then carry the family’s legacy into the season and leave your mark before the cycle turns.
