Five Poisons Sect
The Miao borderlands. Poison mantra, parasites, and the dead who walk—founded by the Golden Poison Emperor.
The Miao lands lie in a remote and treacherous region—full of venomous creatures and people as fierce as the terrain. For centuries the Miao tribal chiefs have mastered the art of mixing poisons and are known across the Jianghu as practitioners of poison mantra: the craft of turning venom into power.
Long ago a man known as the Golden Poison Emperor could compound poison with his bare hands. His disciples learned his methods and founded a sect that came to be called the Five Poisons. Since then the Golden Poison Emperor has been revered as the sect’s patriarch—and the Five Poisons have carved a place in the martial world where few dare to tread.
The Two Branches
Five Poisons disciples follow either the way of the parasite or the way of the corpse. Both strike, control, and break the enemy’s will.
Five Animals (Parasiter)
Disciples who wield small poisonous creatures—parasites bred and bound to their will. These creatures fight the enemy and inflict lasting pain; some parasites also channel elemental power to the wielder or open wounds that bleed without end. This branch focuses on assault and control: wearing the foe down until they yield to the sect’s power.
Five (Human) Poisons (Wickman)
Practitioners who raise the dead—making corpses rise again and serve different roles according to the master’s design. Each corpse has its part to play. Those who walk this path can send their creations to war, and sometimes forge bonds on the battlefield through the same arts. Where the parasite branch poisons and controls the living, the Wickman commands the dead.
